Can’t Grow A Beard? Here’s What You Can Do About It

by Anjelina Tongco

There are many different types and styles of facial hair that one can grow. A slick mustache, a fun chin patch, maybe even a rough stubble -- all on varying levels of difficulty to grow. The ultimate flex in terms of facial hair, though, is the ability to grow a beard.

There’s something about a beard that just makes you look more manly, more "macho", if you will. But what if you can’t grow a beard? Does that mean the end of the world for you? Probably not. But you might feel devastated and frustrated by it and that’s okay.

Lucky for you, there are plenty of things you can do to get a decent-looking beard. Here are some tips to help you with that.

  1. Use beard growth products - there are tons of products out in the market today that are specially formulated to help stimulate beard growth. You can use beard growth oil, beard balm, and other similar products to encourage hair to grow on your beard area. These products often contain minoxidil which is the same ingredient found in other hair growth products. If you’re on a budget you can also use coconut oil for beard growth. Coconut oil contains lauric acid which helps promote beard growth. It also keeps the skin around your beard soft and nourished.
  2. Just keep trimming - no matter how little hair grows, trim your beard regularly. Doing this will encourage better and faster hair growth for your beard which is essential for a long beard in the future (though a short, well-trimmed beard would look great too!). Get a beard trimmer to get the job done quickly or go the manual route with a manual shaver; either way, it’ll help you grow an awesome beard in the near future.
  3. Brush and massage the area - another way to stimulate growth on your beard is to apply light pressure to it by massaging it. Go around in small circles around the area with the beard product of your choice. If you already have some patchy beard growing there,  brush it with a beard brush to make it grow thicker and more consistently.

These three things are guaranteed to help you grow a beard, whether it’s your first time or you just need some help growing a better-looking one. Integrate these tips into your daily routine and watch your beard grow fuller and thicker. Don’t forget to visit hairsense.ca for your beard product needs, too!
