Whether you’re a natural brunette looking to explore a new look, there’s a shade of brown out there that’s perfect for you. You just have to be familiar with your options first. So, what are the different shades of brown hair? Here’s what you need to know, from caramel to espresso and all other shades of brown.

  1. Caramel brown hair - warm and inviting are the two best words to describe caramel hair. This brown hair color is an excellent choice for people with a warm skin tone as it tends to bring out the natural glow in their complexion and a sunkissed vibe to the hair. The caramel hair color is a great spring or summer brown hair color because it is not entirely dark like espresso or chocolate brown hair. It’s versatile and looks good on just about anyone!
  2. Chestnut brown hair - chestnut brown hair is warm but vibrant characterized by undertones of red. This hair color is a popular choice among people with olive or tan skin because it brightens their complexion and brings about a golden glow. Chestnut brown hair is a classic shade of brown that’s perfect for those who want to get a somewhat natural brown hair color.
  3. Chocolate brown hair - another classic to try out and get a feel for, chocolate brown hair is often characterized as a great neutral brown color that works for people of all skin tones. Chocolate brown  is one of the easier shades of brown to pull off. Pair it with highlights and/or lowlights for easily added depth and dimension or wear monotone if you want something easy and low-maintenance.
  4. Honey brown hair- if you have fair skin and warm undertones, you’ll look ethereal with honey brown hair. Honey is a warm and sweet shade of brown that can be hard to resist. It’s strikingly bright, making it a perfect spring or summer color.
  5. Bronde hair - sometimes you just can’t pick between one and the other. It’s inevitable. So, when you find yourself torn between staying a brunette and going blonde, consider going bronde. Bronde hair is the happy halfway between brown and blonde. Lots of people also use this color as a transition hair color when going from winter and spring as it’s neither too light nor too dark.
